Stephen Berini

Steve’s 35-year career spans all aspects of the real estate spectrum.  He started at Chase and then worked at Manufacturers Hanover in the construction lending area.  In Los Angeles, Steve was the Vice President of Development and the Chief Financial Officer of the Ernest W. Hahn company, one of the largest regional shopping center development companies in the United States.  As the Senior Vice President of Finance at Olympia & York (Reichman family), he managed financing for the entire U.S. office buildings portfolio.

Steve then became President of VMS Development, capitalizing on the syndication segment of the real estate market, and then became partner with Jones-Lang Wootton, heading the L.A. office and becoming a member of the international committee.  This exposed Steve to global sources of finance, equity and acquisitions.

In the mid 1990s, as Executive Vice President of Minskoff Properties and later Starwood Ceruzzi Properties, Steve focused on acquisition and development of office buildings and mixed-use developments in the Northeast.  With the resurgence of the New York City market, Steve started The Vesta Group with Marsha LaTessa and Mark Blau.
